the government budgeted $170 million to be spent on abstinence only sex ed in 2005. the message is being spread.

and in regard to abortion being equivialent to murdering a 16 year old girl, i would like to point out the fact that a teenager is able to live outside the womb, a fetus is not. that's a big difference.

yes, a 16 year old girl can live outside of the womb. But that doesn't give her anymore rights than a fetus should have. There is no difference. A 16 year old girl would have a very hard time living without the help of her mother, just like a five year old would. And there have been cases where a fetus could live on it's own.

I'm fairly sure that a 16-year-old would have a much easier time functioning without her mother than a fetus would. She is capable of feeding herself, dressing herself, ensuring that she drives/bikes/walks/takes mass transit to wherever she must go, and holding down a job in order to make herself some money. Furthermore, if she needs a mother figure, it doesn't have to be the woman who gave birth to her. She can live independently of her mother's body. That's why the fetus=16-year-old analogy fails, because a mother can be free of a 16-year-old child and her demands if she wants to be, but not of a fetus... unless she has an abortion.
